Does God Need Angels To Guard His Throne?






Where Was Christ When Satan Rebelled?


Question : The question is related to: Yahweh.

Yahshua (Yahweh is Salvation) = Christ
Mi-cha-El = Chief of Angels

When there was the war in Heaven where Lucifer challenged GOD and wanted to be the ruler of The Universe, Mi-cha-El was empowered by GOD to battle against Lucifer's rebellious group of angels and win it.

So my question is: Where was Christ then? Why did a created being 'Mi-cha-El' had to fight this battle to protect GOD's throne?

Note:- I believe Mi-cha-El never says he's GOD, as in Jude 1:9. He has some inherent character - being loyal to GOD always, unlike Lucifer.

So according to all true Christians, God is a Trinity. It means God is one, but three in person. The first person in the Trinity is God the Father, the second person is the Son Jesus and the third person of the Trinity is the Holy Spirit (Matt 28:19). All three are equally God but one in essence. Old Testament is New Testament concealed and New Testament is Old Testament revealed.

Sometimes people think wrongly that New Testament has a entirely different message from that of the Old Testament and therefore the God of the Old Testament is a angry God but the God of the New Testament is a God of love. There can be no discrepancy between the Old and the New Testament as both are the word of God.

The same God who is concealed in the Old Testament is revealed in the New Testament through Jesus. So when God created the earth and put its foundation, Jesus was the one who spoke in to existence
(Gen 1:3; Col 1:16). Jesus was interested in the life of all humans and spoke in a hidden way as the personification of wisdom in the Old Testament book of Proverbs (Prov 8). Jesus was the God who first who came in His pre-incarnate form of theophany to appear to Abraham along with two angels (Gen 18:1-3, 25, 33), He appeared to Jacob and wrestled with him till day break (Gen 32:24-30), He appeared to Moses in the desert and first delivered the Israelites out of the bondage of Egypt's slavery (Exod 3:2-4; 13:14; 14:19), He led the Israelites in the desert and supplied all their needs (Exo 32:34; 33:2). God himself warned the Isralites to be careful with the Angel and obey his voice as His name is in him (Exo 23:20-23). He is always denoted as "the Angel of the Lord" [i.e. Note the capital "A"], which describes that He is the Lord himself who speaks in the first person, like when he appeared to the Israelites who sunk in to Idol worship, and made them repent in the land of Canaan (Judges 2:1-7). The Angel of the LORD himself declared to the Israelites that he is the messenger who made the covenant with God on behalf of them and with their Father Abraham too. He promised that he will not break it under any circumstances (Gen 15:17-18). The uncreated Angel, the Logos or Son of God, called the Angel of God's presence, and the Angel of the covenant (Isa 63:9, Mal 3:1; John 1:1, 14), is the one who made many appreances to all His people who were living in the centre of His will to fullfill the purpose of God for their lives and the nation of Israel.

We see that twice in the New Testament when John the apostle tried to worship an angel, he immediately intervened and stopped him saying,
"Do not worship me, but only the Lord." (Rev 19:10; 22:8-9). They are the servant of the saints and sent by God. All angels are created beings.

But we see in all the Old Testament passages that the Angel of the Lord received worship willingly which only God is worthy to receive
(Jos 5:14-15), and all who met Him came to the conclusion that He was God in human appearance and the Bible not even one time denies it (cf. Ge 22:11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18; 31:11, 12, 13; Ex 3:2, 3, 4, 5; Nu 22:22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35; Jdg 6:11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23; 13:2, 3, 4, 5; 1Ki 19:5, 6, 7). Even the Angel of the LORD himself did not deny when people said that they have seen God. All the above appearances are the pre-incarnate apprearance of Jesus. Remember, Jesus continued to receive worship from all those who worshipped Him when He was on earth (Matt 8:2; 9:18; 14:33; 15:25; 28:9, 17; Mark 5:6; 15:19; Luke 24:52; John 9:38). Even Paul agreed with this understanding and said that the spiritual Rock that followed the Israelites was none other than Christ himself, who literally opened the rock and brought water to the thirsty Israelites (1 Cor 10:4; Psa 105:41).

Coming to your question, there was no war fought in heaven when Satan and demonic cohorts of angels rebelled against God. God simply says
"I cast you to the ground, I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God and I destroyed you O covering guardian" (Ezek 28:16-17). God simply overthrew Satan and also his angels when they commited sin. Satan made one third of the angels to rebel with his lies and therefore caused God's wrath to come upon them too in which they were thrown out of heaven (Rev 12:3-4). God in His sovereign will allowed Satan and his demons to operate on earth when Adam chose them as his master by his disobedience to God's command (Rom 6:16). The lawlessness of Satan and his demonic minions entered this world system of governance when Adam disobeyed God and gave his God-given authority by his poor choice. Through influencing one disobedience to the one and only command of God which was not to eat the tree of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, Satan usurped Adams authority from Adam by deceit (Rom 5:12, 19; 1 John 3:4; Gen 2:16-17; 3:6-7, 11-13). God has promised to throw out Satan and his demonic angels very soon out of this earth in to the hell which is prepared for them (Matt 25:41; Isa 14:13-20).

With one word of His mouth God can destroy anybody without any external help
(Heb 4:12; Rev 19:15). The voice of the Lord is powerful enough to shatter Satan and all his demons, and also forceful enough to throw them out of heaven (Psa 29:4, 5-10). All the hosts of heaven which were made by the breath of God, will also be easy destroyed by God if He chooses to blow the same breath upon them, this is how the Antichrist will be killed on earth at the end (Psa 33:6; Isa 11:4; 2 Thes 2:8). If God needs angel to defend him, He has already ceased to be God who is omnipotent [i.e. all powerful], omnipresent [i.e. present everywhere] and omniscient [i.e. knows all things] (Psa 139:13, 7, 1-2). God's word declares that power belongs to God (62:11).

Michael who was one of the chief princes, was empowered by God to fight against the demons in the book of Daniel when these demonic resistance on earth were trying to keep the answer of God from reaching Daniel the prophet who was sincerely praying for his nation of Israel
(Daniel 10:10-13, 20-21). Here in Chapter ten we see that even though it seems like Gabriel was sent as like the previous two times to deliver the message of God (Dan 8:16-17; 9:21), yet we see that the Bible describing this messenger in Chapter 10 as "one having the likeness of the sons of men" (10:16), "the one having the likeness of a man" (10:18), and also Daniel replying back to him as "My Lord" and calling himself as His servant (10:17). This clearly suggests that it was the Lord Jesus who is described here in the tenth chapter of the book of Daniel, same as in the third chapter of the fiery furnace in which He is described as the fourth man who is the "Son of God" in a explicit manner (Dan 3:25). Even when Gabriel came the first time and second time, it was a instruction given to him from Jesus in a man's voice and also in the appearance of a man, who has always delighted to be among the sons of men (Dan 8:15-16; 9:23; Pro 8:31). As the commander of the Lord's Army Jesus was the one who was orchestrating the defense of the nation of the Israel right from the time of Moses and Joshua itself (Jos 5:13-15), so here in Daniel 10:20-21 Jesus seems to discuss that there is no much defense against the nation of Israel in the spiritual realm except Michael the prince of Israel who has been ordained by God (Jude 1:9). The nations were divided in the spiritual realm from the foundations of the world according to the number of the tribes of Israel, which means there are 12 main divisional spiritual zones on earth with the nation of Israel in the centre of it in which the Lord Jesus ruled spiritually (Dan 10:20-21; Deu 32:8).

So the bottom line is, Michael the chief prince of the nation of Israel never fought against Satan when he and his demonic angels were expelled out of heaven. God just threw them out all after their rebellion. God's throne is protected by His own power and no angels are needed to defend it. He had set the seraphim above and cherubim in the midst and around the throne of God in heaven to display His glory and reveal His majesty
(Isa 6:1-4; Rev 4:6-9). All angels are the servant of God and not His bodyguards, cause He never needs them because of His omnipotence.

God responds and empower angels to fullfill His will and reveals His plan when His people pray. God will not move without us praying for the fullfillment of His will on earth
(Matt 6:10), we cannot see the purpose of God fullfilled in our lives, Churches and nations fullfilled without us praying for it. So even though God has all the ability to intervene and change circumstances (Jer 32:17, 27), He cannot and will not intervene until we give Him permission to intervene on earth through our prayers (Jer 33:2-3). God has set a spiritual rule set in heaven for ruling the earth and He abides by it (Job 38:33-34). MAY GOD HELP US ALL TO PRAY TO HIM CONTINUALLY FOR HIS PURPOSE TO BE DONE IN OUR GENERATION THROUGH US AND HIS WILL FULLFILLED FOR OUR LIVES, FAMILIES, CHURCHES AND NATIONS ALIKE.
